Digital and IT training

Engaging, interactive online learning and teaching resources, mapped to IT curricula across the UK.
About digital and IT training
Skills shortages in the digital and IT sector are a growing problem – in the cyber security specialism alone, the UK could be struggling to fill 100,000 jobs by 2022, according to the most recent Global Information Security Workforce Study (GISWS).
To help in providing a solution, we’ve developed digital and IT training. These new, high quality interactive digital learning resources are mapped to digital and IT qualifications across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. This includes the new T-level qualification being introduced in England from September 2020, as well as NVQs and SVQs at levels 2 and 3 and the latest National Occupational Standards (NOS).
Why choose these training resources?
The new digital learning resources use gamification principles to appeal to learners with different learning styles. The interactive content includes quizzes, case studies, animations and videos that reflect realistic work-based scenarios and will be kept up to date with curriculum and legislation changes.
Using digital technologies to support learning and teaching engages young learners who have been ‘born digital’ and encourages independent learning. A key finding from our 2018 digital experience insights survey is that "over a third of all students want digital technologies to be used more on their course".
A significant number also said they’d like to see "more multimedia in course content such as video or audio, as some people learn better through this medium”.
The new content links to existing Jisc resources such as e-books for FE and we offer extensive skills service support to help teachers and information professionals get the most from the new materials.
