Education and childcare training

Engaging, interactive online learning and teaching resources, mapped to education and childcare curricula across the UK.
About education and childcare training
Skills shortages are still having a negative impact in the early years sector. Employers are finding it hard to recruit qualified staff, and even qualified people aren’t always work-ready.
To help in providing a solution, we’ve developed education and childcare training - high quality interactive digital learning resources that are mapped to education and childcare qualifications across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. This includes the new T-level qualification being introduced in England from September 2020, as well as NVQs and SVQs at levels 2 and 3 and the latest National Occupational Standards (NOS).
Why choose our training resources?
The new digital learning resources use gamification principles to appeal to learners with different learning styles. The interactive content includes quizzes, case studies, animations and videos that reflect realistic work-based scenarios and will be kept up to date with curriculum and legislation changes.
Using digital technologies to support learning and teaching engages young learners who have been ‘born digital’ and encourages independent learning. A key finding from our 2018 digital experience insights survey is that “over a third of all students want digital technologies to be used more on their course” and a significant number said they’d like to see to “more multimedia in course content such as video or audio, as some people learn better through this medium”.
The new content links to existing Jisc resources such as e-books for FE and we offer extensive skills service support to help teachers and information professionals get the most from the new materials.
