Jisc has been selected by GÉANT as the UK’s sole Amazon Web Services (AWS) reseller on the OCRE cloud framework.

This means we can help eligible UK institutions move into cloud and offer a 14% discount on all eligible AWS products (not including AWS Marketplace services) including compute, containers, databases and machine learning with no spend commitment.

Eligible organisations* can procure via the framework by completing a call-off contract to buy AWS from Jisc as the AWS reseller.

OCRE – supporting your move to the cloud

The GÉANT OCRE project aims to boost research by accelerating adoption of cloud within the European research community. OCRE brings together cloud providers, EO organisations and the research and education community through service agreements and adoption funding.

The OCRE cloud framework allows for a single reseller per cloud platform per country. We are the reseller for AWS in the UK.

The framework covers public cloud infrastructure as a service (IaaS) and platform as a service (PaaS): the provision of compute, storage, network and related services and/or a platform allowing customers to develop, run and manage applications as a public cloud service. In addition, software as a service (SaaS) is also  available in terms of file storage, online collaboration, simulation and virtualisation tools.
