About

This online event will take attendees through the technology available to support teaching and learning strategies and improve learner outcomes, including a live case study where technology deployed has led to increase academic and student success. We know that student engagement is a perennial issue, but in an age of hybrid learning, with students who have grown up in a vastly different cultural landscape, how do you hook them into their studies?

We believe the answer lies in the human touch - the capacity for instructors to enthuse their students around the topics they're teaching, to offer support and individual contact time and to understand which of their students are struggling the most. However, we know that instructors can only spread themselves so thin and that all too often students' lack of preparedness constrains class time to covering theory and basics.

McGraw Hill works with instructors all over the world helping them integrate courseware into their instructional design in a way that frees them up to teach the way the want to. In this session, John Mulvihill will be talking about his experience using McGraw Hill's Connect with his students for:

  • Continuous assessment and insights
  • Targeted teaching to combat 'information overload’
  • Support with the transition to Higher Education.
  • Opportunities for them to practice and 'fail' without consequences.
  • Structure to help themjuggle study with external responsibilities.
